All three of these phones have triple-lens cameras and they’re quite similar setups too, but not identical.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition has a 12MP f/1.8 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide one, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto one with OIS, 3x optical zoom, and up to 30x digital zoom.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 on the other hand has a similar 12MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS and 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide one, but its telephoto camera is a 64MP f/2.0 one with OIS, 3x lossless zoom, and 30x digital zoom.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a 12MP variable aperture main snapper, which can move between f/1.5 and f/2.4. This also has OIS, but the sensor is smaller than on the other two phones, meaning it will struggle more in low light.
The Galaxy S10 also has a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto one with OIS, capable of 2x optical zoom.
Moving on to the front-facing cameras, you get a 32MP f/2.2 one on the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, while the Samsung Galaxy S20 has a 10MP f/2.2 one, and the Galaxy S10 has a 10MP f/1.9 one.
We’ll have to put the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition through a full review to properly assess its cameras, but overall on paper it sounds like it might be a small upgrade on the Galaxy S10’s, while the standard S20 likely has the best of the three – certainly we were impressed with its cameras in our review.

Compared to the Galaxy S10, the S20 is better in just about every way. Samsung’s AMOLED display technology is as good as ever, and this year you get a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung’s also upgraded the camera system, performance is faster across the board, and there’s a big bump in battery capacity. The headphone jack may be gone, but you also get support for growing 5G networks.

One of the best reasons for going with a Galaxy S10 phone over a Galaxy S20 phone is price: now that the new models are out, the 2019 models are seeing some pretty big price reductions across the board. If you shop around a bit, you should be able to find you can pick up a brand new Samsung Galaxy S10 for a lot less than the launch price (check the widgets on this page for the latest deals).
We’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy S10e for around £670, the Samsung Galaxy S10 for £700 or so, and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus for somewhere in the region of £800, though you might be able to better those prices. Contract prices will vary as well, so try and check out the deals from as many places as possible.
As for the starting prices on the 2020 models, you can pick up the 4G Samsung Galaxy S20 for £799 and up, the 5G Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus for £999 and up, and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra for £1,199 and up. Check in with your favourite network for details of what these phones will cost on contract, but expect to pay flagship prices.

Get ready to pay up for Samsung’s new phones. The Galaxy S20 starts at $999. If you want the more impressive features of the Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra, you’ll need to pay $1,199 and $1,399, respectively.
That’s a big change from last year’s debut prices for the Galaxy S10, when the Galaxy S10e provided you with a low-cost entry into the S10 lineup at $749. The S10 and S10 Plus cost $899 and $999, respectively, while the Galaxy S10 5G was the only model with a four-figure price tag at $1,299.
Samsung has made the gap in prices between the S20 and S10 even more noticeable when it announced price cuts to the Galaxy S10 lineup. The S10e now starts at $599, while the S10 is available for $749 and the S10 Plus costs $849. If you think the Galaxy S20 lineup is too costly, Samsung seems to be saying, at least last year’s top Samsung phones are more affordable.

Настройки также позволяют менять баланс белого и насыщенность цветов. Если вам кажется, что на экране цвета чересчур «ядреные», можно перейти на более естественные. Есть поддержка AlwaysOn Display, в котором на заблокированный экран выводятся время, день недели и остаток заряда аккумулятора. Причем предусмотрено несколько стилей отображения этой информации.
Под дисплеем находится датчик отпечатков пальцев — срабатывает практически мгновенно.

Как мы уже говорили, FE — это не упрощенная версия S20. Процессор здесь — тот же Exynos 990, по объему памяти есть два варианта: 6/128 Гбайт и 8/256 Гбайт. Такая начинка позволяет без проблем запускать любые игры на настройках выше средних. Правда, при высоких нагрузках смартфон иногда греется — особенно если в это время еще и подключен к сети.
Слот для карт здесь гибридный. Нужно будет выбрать: 2 симки или SIM + карта памяти. Учитывая достаточно большой объем встроенного хранилища, необходимости в карте памяти у большинства пользователей не возникнет. Но если что — знайте, что поставить сюда можно хоть террабайтную.

Тех, кто оценивает камеры по количеству мегапикселей, ждет сюрприз: даже у основной их всего 12. Что, впрочем, не мешает делать качественные фото с хорошей детализацией. Даже при недостатке света шумов на фото не так много.
Сверхширокоугольная имеет разрешение те же 12 Мп, но автофокуса у нее нет. Зато охват, действительно, очень широкий. Третьим модулем теоретически мог бы стать макрообъектив, но, к счастью, поставили телефото. Добавив к тому же трехкратный оптический зум. Даже при максимальном увеличении качество почти не страдает.
Интерфейс приложения для фотографирования, как обычно, минималистичен. Никакого множества режимов на главном экране — только «Фотография», «Видеозапись» и «Мультикадр». Последний — одна из «фишек» нового поколения флагманов Samsung: ИИ креативит, делая сразу несколько разноплановых кадров.
Все остальные прелести скрыты под линком «Еще». В первую очередь, это «Живой фокус», позволяющий не только размывать фон в той или иной мере, но и формировать рисунок боке.
The Galaxy S20 has a lot of meaningful improvements
A lot of people would like to argue that we’ve hit a plateau with smartphone advancements, and as such, you might not think the Galaxy S20 is that big of an upgrade over the already-great Galaxy S10. The S10 is still a perfectly fine piece of tech, but if you’re itching for an upgrade and have the money to afford it, we actually think the Galaxy S20 may be worth it.
One of the biggest reasons the S20 is worth upgrading to is its display. Just like the S10, you’re getting a fantastic AMOLED panel with a crisp Quad HD+ resolution. Where the S20 shows its dominance, however, is with its refresh rate. Where the S10’s display refreshes at a traditional 60Hz, the S20 offers double the speed at 120Hz. This means everything on the S20 looks substantially faster and smoother, and even if you’re not a specs geek, it’s an improvement you’ll instantly be able to recognize and appreciate.

If you take a lot of pictures with your phone, the S20 offers noteworthy upgrades here, too. The primary camera is still a 12MP sensor, but the telephoto camera has been upgraded to 64MP and now provides a 3x Hybrid Optic Zoom and 30x Super Resolution Zoom for even better telephoto shots.
That’s not all you get with the Galaxy S20. That $1,000 price tag is huge, but when you consider everything Samsung’s added, we think a $100 price increase from the S10 is well-justified.

Samsung Galaxy S10 vs Samsung Galaxy S20: design

Samsung’s familiar design language is evident in both the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S20 ranges: big, beautiful, AMOLED screens, tasteful designs on the rear casing, and a punch hole camera notch on the display (with the S20 range, this punch hole notch has moved from the top right corner to the centre).
The screens are bigger this year, starting at 6.2 inches and going up to 6.9 inches; last year the range was 5.8 inches to 6.4 inches (the resolutions are largely the same though). On both the S10 and S20 models, the fingerprint sensor is embedded under the front display, which means less interruption on the back and smaller bezels on the front.
Rather than a thin strip as on the S10 phones, the S20 handsets have their camera arrays in a rectangular box in the top corner on the back. The Galaxy S20 phones come in grey, blue, black and pink, depending on the model, whereas the Galaxy S10 phones that preceded them were available in white, black, green, blue, yellow, red, blue and pink across the three models.

Design, display, and durability
While there’s no mistaking that these phones belong to the same family, Samsung has made a few design tweaks to the S20. It’s still a curved glass sandwich, but the camera module on the back is now vertically stacked and shifted off to the top left. The headphone port is gone from the S20 and so is the Bixby key.
Samsung has managed to squeeze in a tiny bit more screen without increasing the overall size by much — an impressive feat given the expanded battery and 5G support. The hole-punch camera that was top right on the S10 has been centered on the S20. The Dynamic AMOLED screen on the S20 improves on its predecessor’s already excellent display with a much higher 120Hz refresh rate that lends a silky smooth feel to scrolls and swipes and ensures that even the most demanding of games look as they should.
Dropping either of these phones is liable to cause severe anxiety, so cases are advisable, but they do have an IP68 rating, which means they can survive submersion in fresh water for up to half an hour.

Bigger battery with faster charging
The Galaxy S20 FE provides all-day battery life even with the 120Hz refresh rate mode enabled, and this is quite a feat given that the base Galaxy S21 model struggles (and fails) to achieves the same. Evidently, you can squeeze even more out of the 4,500mAh unit if you limit yourself to 60Hz but it’s not necessary to do so.
The budget flagship not only has a larger 4,500mAh battery compared to the 4,300mAh battery found inside the Galaxy S10+ but it also benefits from faster 25W charging as opposed to 15W. In essence, this means that the Galaxy S20 FE battery will take longer to deplete and it will recharge faster. Both phones offer 15W fast wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy S20 vs S10 − Design and size
Samsung has stuck with pretty much the same design formula for the past few years, the Galaxy S20 and S10 look very similar as a result. Both phones have a glass back, a curved screen with rounded corners, slim bezels, and a fingerprint scanner embedded underneath the screen.
However, there are a few subtle differences to note. The Galaxy S20 is a tiny bit larger than the S10, measuring in at 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9mm and 163g, compared to the S10’s 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8mm and 157g.
And though both phones have a circular screen cutout that houses the selfie camera, the S20’s sits centrally, while the S10’s is in the top-right corner.
But the most obvious cosmetic difference lies around the back. The S20’s rear cameras are arranged in a neat column, while the S10’s rear sensors sit side by side.
I think the S20 is the nicer looking phone, but there isn’t a huge amount to pick out between the two designs.
