Samsung galaxy m33 обзор: быстрый сенсор отпечатков, большой аккумулятор

No Super AMOLED Display:

The Galaxy M33 has a 6.6 inch TFT LCD screen, and its resolution is 1080 x 2408 pixels (~400 PPI density). We know that the AMOLED display is superior to the TFT LCD screen and consumes less energy. Furthermore, the AMOLED display is vivid in color and lasts longer.

However, AMOLED displays have two types of problems.

One, an AMOLED display loses its sharpness, crispiness, and vividness after a few years. The screen would look dull compared to a newly purchased M33 phone’s screen.

Second, the AMOLED display has a screen burn issue. It arises when someone uses a single app extensively — such as Google Maps — for a long time. This extended usage would leave a ghost watermark of the used app imprinted on the screen permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Does the Samsung M33 come with a screen protector?

No, Samsung M33 does not come with a screen protector pre-installed on the phone.

Does the Samsung M33 come with a case?

No, Samsung M33 does not come with a phone case in the box.

How to activate Developer Mode in Galaxy M33?

Before you can develop apps and test on M33, you need to enable the “Developer options.” To activate it, go to “Settings” then click on “About phone.” Now, click on the “Build number” 7 times to enable “Developer options.” Once activated, the option will appear in the “Settings” main menu.

How to force restart M33?

If your M33 is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold the Side key and the Volume Down key simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart your phone.

Does the Galaxy M33 come with a headphone?

No. Samsung doesn’t ship a 3.5mm headphone with the Galaxy M33 package.

Galaxy M33 Battery is Non-Removable:

The Galaxy M33 has a non-removable 5000 mAh battery. It is a disadvantage because the removable battery is useful in many scenarios. An old phone loses its battery capacity. So, it charges slowly but discharges rapidly, making the phone unusable for a practical purpose.

Moreover, if Samsung OS detects the battery has become weak, it will slow down the processor to protect the battery from further deterioration. The slow processor will make a Samsung phone laggy. It is why an old Samsung phone lags and hangs.

Replacing the old battery with a new one will solve all these problems. But, the M33’s battery is non-removable. So, when your Galaxy M33 phone gets old and becomes slow, you have to replace the phone itself.

RAM:

The Samsung Galaxy M33 would ship with 6GB or 8GB RAM. We consider it a disadvantage because 6GB RAM is not enough for the Android OS with One UI 4.1 and with all those bloatware pre-installed. While new, your phone will open apps blazing fast; however, this RAM will choke to run different apps after a few years.

Android is inherently a resource-intensive operating system. The RAM Samsung is giving in this phone is actually not for users. It’s primarily for the heavy Android OS because, without the 6GB RAM, the M33 will struggle to run apps smoothly.

However, as the RAM ages, this phone will slow down and fail to run various apps without crashing.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G hence, does come with a bunch of cons along with a lot of pros that it offers. The model design and display quality along with the battery life offered are quite decent. However, the camera performance for a few of the rear cams needs to be improved. Geekbench 5 CPU benchmark produced a single-core score of 735 and a multi-core score of 1,842, with several devices like the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 series and above, Xiaomi Poco F1, F3 and X3 Pro scoring higher than it. The Samsung Galaxy M33 Pro 5G price in India starts at Rs 17,999 and very well can be your next buy or upgrade from a feature phone or a low-budget smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G Pros

  • A decent design with a pinch of glamour, perfect for taking to night parties
  • A well-lit and colourful display with a smooth touch experience
  • Good battery life

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G Cons

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G Review: Massive battery, no charger

One of the most significant selling points of this device is the massive 6,000mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G is a monster to beat in the battery department. It is just impossible to drain the battery in a day, even with heavy usage that includes a lot of gaming and streaming videos on Netflix or Prime Video.

We got a screen on time of roughly 9 hours with a mix of medium to heavy usage. The phone also delivered a good battery life of approximately two days with this usage. One can expect it to deliver up to three days of battery backup with average to light usage.

The phone also comes with 25W fast charging support, though the doesn’t ship with a charging brick. This means you have to bear additional charges to buy the 25W rapid charger from the company. During our testing, we found out that the phone was able to charge from 10 to 100% in roughly 1.6 hours. Moreover, half an hour of charge delivered around 40% of battery backup.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G review: Camera

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G comes with a quad-camera setup at the back. It includes a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera with 120-degree FOV, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor.

The device has a simple Camera UI with various options available like taking burst shots, video stabilization, auto HDR, adding watermark, and more. Pictures can be clicked using volume keys, floating shutter button, or showing your palm to the camera. Modes like slow-motion, super slow motion, panorama, single take, and Pro allow you to tweak your photos or videos however you like.

The main 50MP camera clicks good images in daylight. They are bright, detailed, and social media-worthy. The greens, reds, and browns look beautiful when captured with this lens. The problem lies when the pictures are clicked in bright artificial lights. Too much lighting seems to disperse making the pictures hazy. Pictures in a room with a normal LED which gives softer light were better.

The 5MP ultrawide camera takes ok shots even in artificial light conditions. It covers a good FOV and pictures are not as hazy as they are with the main lens.

Aesthetic shots taken in close-up with macro and depth sensors are decent but the focus is not that accurate. The detailing is strictly average in these shots though the colors look accurate.

There is a new kind of mode called the ‘Food Mode’ which is really fun to play with. I took pictures of my normal everyday lunch as well as desserts at a restaurant and both looked even more delicious when clicked with Food Mode. It does highlight the colors of the food and makes it look yummy.

There is an 8MP selfie camera that gives good selfies even in indoor settings with artificial lights. The subject as well as the background both are kept in focus in the selfie and neither looks like it’s stealing the other’s thunder. There are selfie cameras that don’t give good selfies if they don’t highlight the subject specifically and highlight it from the background. However, that is not the case here as the background as well we looked just fine.

Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G comes with a 50MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro sensor, and 2MP depth sensor while there is an 8MP selfie shooter on the front.

The rear camera can shoot videos at 4k@30fps, and 1080p@30/60fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p@30fps.

The phone doesn’t have OIS, it relies on EIS, so the video footage won’t come out stable. The video quality is also not that great, the details are not good either while Samsung is trying to boost the colors.

Now, there is some issue with dynamic range, sometime, it does the job, and sometimes it blows up.

Everything can be fixed with a single OTA update but we have seen this in the past and Samsung hasn’t fixed this issue on Budget smartphones. So if you want to buy galaxy m33 5G then buy it as in the current situation, don’t expect anything else.

The front cameras also do the same, also, as this is only an 8MP sensor, it loses out on details and has the same dynamic range issue.

Coming to that 50MP primary sensor, this sensor takes some good images under good lights while Samsung has added tons of filters, so you won’t have to use any third-party apps.

As I have said, dynamic range issues can be seen in the images too, it’s a miss-or-hit situation.

Now, don’t get me started on 5MP ultra-wide because an ultra-wide lens captures more area compared to the primary sensor which means, the ultra-wide lens should be bigger and if the sensor is smaller then it will lose out on details.

Also, don’t ever use an ultra-wide lens at night because the images won’t be useable, I mean, you can upload them on social media but do it at your own risk.

Here comes the bigger sensors, those 2MP + 2MP sensors going to make your day, it’s the best sensor you can get on a budget smartphone, I mean, let’s just leave it there, they’re useless.

Overall, this could have been the best camera under 10k but at 19k, it doesn’t justify at all. So if you plan to buy this device then don’t set your expectation very high.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G Review: Impressive design but plastic build

The latest Samsung Galaxy M33 5G is meant to impress with its fascinating rear-facing design. However, the front panel seems to disappoint a bit. The rear panel offers a modern look and appears super-premium. The back panel comes with a subtle finish, and we liked the fact that the camera module seamlessly merges with the panel.

The phone is available in different colour options, and we got Deep Ocean Blue, which gives a premium look. The side panel is made of plastic, and so is the back panel. Thanks to the choice of materials, the in-hand feel is decent, if not great. On the downside, the phone is quite prone to smudges on both the front and back panels, so I would recommend using it with a cover (which is not provided in the box). The round edges give you some comfort in holding the phone, but 215 grams of heft makes it feel heavy.

The right side of the device features volume controls and a power on/off button, which also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. It is quick to register fingerprints and unlock the phone with precision. Unfortunately, the volume controls are placed a little too high to my liking, making it difficult to reach. The left side of the device hosts the SIM slot, while the bottom comes with a single-firing speaker and a USB Type-C port.

Display

Samsung relies on a TFT panel for the Galaxy M33 5G’s display. This resolves with 1080 x 2408 pixels (FHD+) in the mid-range smartphone. On top of that, the South Korean manufacturer wants to score with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This is probably also what forced Samsung not to design the 6.6-inch display based on an OLED panel. After all, it is technically easier to provide TFT panels with a high refresh rate.

Unfortunately, the lack of the Samsung-typical AMOLED also ensures that especially a direct comparison to OLED panels leads to the M33 5G’s display not really seeming up-to-date. This is especially obvious when looking at the recently reviewed Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G (test). Especially in terms of contrast, the TFT display consistently draws the short straw. Here, black is rather a very dark gray. Potential buyers of the M33 5G should definitely keep this in mind.

The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G is available in three different colors

After all, AMOLED displays have now definitely arrived in the mid-range as well and are by no means an exclusive luxury for flagship smartphone owners anymore. The difference in colors might not be quite as serious, but the M33 5G cannot really keep up here either. Only the brightness does not give reason for complaint. As long as the sun does not shine directly on the device, everything can be recognized well. We hope that Samsung will rethink in the next generation. After all, the company is considered the number one expert and supplier of high-quality AMOLEDs.

However, when we talk about the Galaxy M33 5G’s display, it would be unfair to complain exclusively. After all, it offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This ensures that you can scroll without annoying stutters or distorted images, but you can also play games. A real treat for the eyes! The refresh rate can be adjusted so that it does not eat up the battery too much. In this case, it adapts to the respective application. Thus, the device only increases the refresh rate when you are playing a fast game or scrolling in the browser.

Demak, Galaxy A53 5G hamda Galaxy M33 qurilmalari bir turdagi chipsetga ega bo‘ladi. Avvalroq A53 5G ham GeekBench’da testdan o‘tgan edi. Agar ular qayd etgan natijalari taqqoslak, hech qanday katta farqni sezmaymiz.

Galaxy M33 allaqachon SafetyKorea tomonidan sertifikatlandi. Ushbu jarayonda qurilma EB-BM336ABN model raqami hamda 6,000 mAs sig‘imli akkumulyatorga ega bo‘lishi ma’lum bo‘ldi.

Avvalgi M32 bilan taqqoslak, akkumulyator sig‘imi bo‘yicha yangi smartfonda hech qanday o‘zgarish yo‘q.

GeekBench’da testdan o‘tgan smartfon Android 12 operatsion tizimi hamda 6GB tezkor xotiraga ega edi. Katta ehtimol bilan, qurilmaning turli xil xotira hajmiga ega bo‘lgan turlari bo‘ladi.

Galaxy M33’ning taqdimot sanasi haqida hech qanday ma’lumot yo‘q. Odatda Samsung yilning boshida S seriyasidagi flagman smartfonlarini taqdim etadi. Agar ushbu an’ana buzilmasa, Galaxy M33 yaqqin ikki oy ichida taqdim etilmaydi.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G performance

After bringing to light many similarities to the Galaxy M23 5G in terms of design, we come to differences in the area of performance. The Galaxy M33 5G relies on an octa-core processor manufactured in the 5-nanometer process, which clocks with a maximum of 2.4 GHz. It is supported by 6 GB of RAM. In comparison, the M23 5G “only” offers 4 GB of RAM and up to 2.2 GHz with its Snapdragon 750G 5G. So, on paper, the Galaxy M33 5G is the significantly stronger device. But can you feel that in practice? First, we want to take a look at the respective 3DMark results. This is particularly important for playing mobile games.

The Galaxy M33 5G achieved 2240 points in the Wild Life test. In contrast, the somewhat weaker equipped Galaxy M23 5G achieved 1116 points. Thus, the just under 60 euro expensive M33 5G doubles the score of the M23 5G. A similar picture emerges in Geekbench. While the Galaxy M33 5G achieves 746 points (single-core) and 1887 points (multi-core), the M23 5G achieves a weaker 647 points in single-core and a curiously better 1935 points in multi-core. These differences are also evident in the performance. The Galaxy M33 5G runs very smoothly. Especially in combination with a 120 Hz display, it is really fun to browse through the apps. There is also not much to complain about in terms of gaming. Very demanding games occasionally suffer from stutters, but the usual games are no problem.

Samsung BloatWare:

Though we love Samsung Phones, we aren’t too fond of their software. Samsung always ships its phone with a lot of bloatware pre-installed. M33 is not different either. This Galaxy M33 comes with more than 50 preloaded apps. There are several duplicate apps too.

Note: The number of preloaded apps and apps selection differs depending on the region.

You may think it’s not a big deal for your M33 because you have plenty of remaining storage capacity left for you. But the problem with pre-installed bloatware is that those apps have some root permission to access your user data that 3rd party apps don’t have.

Moreover, A pre-installed app can run several processes in the background, which you will never be able to detect. For example, the Facebook app runs several processes in the background that consume a lot of battery and processing power. It not only limits the battery but also prevents other apps from running smoothly, such as Maps. It is why Google maps crashes if you have Facebook installed.

Pre-installed Microsoft Bloatware:

Samsung preloads every Galaxy M33 with the following Microsoft apps.

  • Office Mobile
  • Microsoft One Drive
  • LinkedIn
  • Microsoft Outlook

3rd Party Bloatware:

Samsung ships its every M33 phone with the following 3rd party Apps.

  • TikTok
  • Booking.com
  • Wego Flights & Hotels
  • Spotify
  • Netflix

Duplicate Apps in Galaxy M33:

Samsung is infamous for shipping its phone with duplicate apps. Galaxy M33 is not an exception, either. The following are the duplicate apps in a Galaxy M33.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G review: Design

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G has a very typical ‘Samsung’ like design. At first look, the phone would look like many other regular Samsung smartphones. The smartphone has rounded corners and very less bezels for the front display. It comes in 2 colors and the one I have is Deep Ocean Blue. The color looks elegant and the back panel doesn’t catch smudges easily.

However, the phone feels bulky (215 grams) in hand (due to the 6000mAh battery) and does not have a striking appearance that might attract one to it. The front has a 6.6-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which makes the device look rigid.

The right edge of the smartphone house has a power button cum fingerprint scanner and volume rockers, whereas the left edge of the smartphone houses a SIM tray. The bottom has USB Type-C charging port, speaker grille, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The top edge is left idle whereas the back has a simple-looking square camera module that houses quad-camera lenses. LED flash is just outside the camera module and there is Samsung branding too at the back of the smartphone.

The phone fits in one’s hand but it is slightly difficult to operate it with one hand which is a bummer. The device doesn’t come with a charger or a protective case inside the box which means you will have to purchase it by paying extra bucks. Overall, the design of the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G has nothing unique and is very ordinary.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G Review

No, the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G is not worth buying because the phone has a TFT display, the cameras are not that great, and eMMC Storage will make the smartphone slower in the long run while that Rs 18,999 price tag doesn’t justify it at all.

As this is a Samsung smartphone, the price is on the higher side, if you’re that person who wanted to buy a 5G Samsung phone under Rs 20,000 in India then this could be a good option otherwise, we have phones like POCO X4 Pro 5G, RealMe 9 Pro 5G and many other, so it doesn’t make any sense pay premium for Galaxy M33 5G.

Related: 5 Best Smartphones Under Rs 30000

By the way, Samsung didn’t give a charger in the box, so you have to buy a 25W charger from Samsung which will cost you Rs 1,999.

The phone does have Exynos 1280 processor and this is a powerful processor but still, one should not buy a smartphone, just because of the powerful processor, there are many features that matter.

Overall, I don’t recommend Galaxy M33 5G, don’t waste your money on Samsung Logo, there are many smartphones available with good prices and great specifications.

Design and workmanship

And that was not all with the similarities. A look at the front even makes the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G look like a twin of the Galaxy M23 5G. Both smartphones have the same 6.6-inch display with correspondingly slim screen edges as well as a teardrop notch at the top center, where the front camera is located.

A teardrop notch in the center houses the front-facing camera.

A look at the sides reveals that the arrangement of the individual components is also identical. The standby button with integrated fingerprint sensor and volume rocker are on the right side of the device. On the left side is the SIM card slot with room for two nano-SIMs and a microSD.

Samsung only places a microphone at the top. At the bottom, the USB-C port is located next to a speaker, as well as another microphone and a 3.5 mm jack. A look at the back reveals more obvious differences. For one thing, there is the color. Our test model of the Galaxy M33 5G comes in Khaki Green.

Compared to the Dark Green of the Galaxy M23 5G, this one is not only brighter. On top of that, it offers different color variations depending on the angle of incidence of the light. This makes a noble impression. Otherwise, Samsung also relies on a matte finish for the Galaxy M33 5G, which largely prevents ugly finger smudges. However, these also appear after a while of use.

The back is not quite as matte as on the M23 5G. You can then clearly distinguish the smartphone from its sister device due to the quad camera. Samsung relies on an arrangement that strongly reminds of the iPhone here. The Galaxy M33 5G is by no means a compact smartphone. With 198 g, it is not only relatively heavy. On top of that, it is anything but handy with 165.4 x 76.9 x 9.4 mm.

The Galaxy M23 5G (left) in Deep Green and the Galaxy M33 5G (right) in Khaki Green

Due to the rounded edges, I have problems operating the mid-range device comfortably with one hand. The fear that it could slip out of my hand is too great. I would have liked an angular design better here. However, that is a matter of taste and depends on personal preferences. It is certain that Samsung can create the feeling of holding a high-quality device in the hands despite the plastic casing. This is mainly due to the high build quality.

Performance

We have seen Exynos 1280 processor in Galaxy A53 5G () and Samsung has recently added the same processor to Galaxy A33 5G too. Again, we have the same chip in Galaxy M33 5G.

The Exynos 1280 SoC is powerful enough to handle a 120Hz refresh rate, so there won’t be any frame drop and lag while using the smartphone while the device runs on OneUi 4.1 based on Android 12.

By the way, there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games, all the mobile games will work like butter.

It also has 5G support and Samsung has added 12 5G bands which is great because is about to launch in India very soon.

Galaxy M33 5G has full OneUI 4.1 support which means, you will be able to use all the OneUI features.

Related: Best Smartphones Under Rs 25,000

I don’t have any complaints about the processor, this is a good processor but the problem is, that the phone has eMMC storage which is not great for a 19k smartphone because after some time, let’s after a year of use, the phone might feel slower.

Samsung could have added UFS 2.2 storage but can’t expect that after the TFT display.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G review: Display

The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ Infinity-V display panel which is an LCD pane offering decent quality visuals. The colors are bright and the scenes appear detailed and crisp. It can do a 120Hz refresh rate ensuring everything feels smooth be it scrolling social media feed, browsing the web, or reading an e-book.

Content consumption experiences from apps such as YouTube, Netflix, or other OTT apps were above average in quality. You can switch between the Dark or Light mode theme as per your convenience. There are options like eye comfort shield, screen timeout, and touch sensitivity as well which you can adjust how you want them. Overall, Galaxy M33 has a better LCD display than many others for a 5G phone with under a 20k budget.

Samsung Galaxy M33
